Consultation Process
Our process ensures a tailored approach to meet each child’s unique needs, with an emphasis on collaboration between you, the family, and our clinical team.
01
Initial Inquiry
Families or caregivers reach out to Harmony Bridge via the initial consultation form.
A representative collects preliminary information, including the child's age, diagnosis, location, and specific needs or concerns via an initial intake form.
02
Pre-Consultation Screening
The team reviews the information to determine if the child is a suitable candidate for ABA services and whether the family falls within the service area.
Harmony Bridge verifies the family's insurance coverage for ABA services and explains any potential out-of-pocket costs.
03
Scheduling the Consultation
The Scheduling Coordinator contacts the family to set up a date and time for an initial consultation. This may be done in-home, in-facility, or virtually, depending on family preference and location.
04
Initial Consultation
A Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) meets with the family and the child to observe behavior, discuss concerns, and identify goals.
The BCBA may conduct preliminary assessments or screenings to understand the child's current developmental level, communication abilities, and behavior patterns.
Collaboratively, the BCBA and family establish desired outcomes and priorities for the child’s ABA program.
05
Comprehensive Assessment
If deemed necessary, the BCBA conducts a more in-depth FBA to identify the functions of specific behaviors and determine appropriate intervention strategies.
Standardized assessments, like the VB-MAPP (Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program) or ABLLS-R (Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills), may be used to evaluate the child's communication, social, and adaptive skills.
06
Plan Development
Based on the assessment data, the BCBA creates an ITP that outlines specific goals, intervention strategies, and measurable objectives tailored to the child’s needs.
The plan may also include a component for parent training to ensure consistency in interventions across environments.
07
Review and Approval
The BCBA reviews the ITP with the family, explaining each section in detail and adjusting as necessary based on the family's input.
The Authorization Service Coordinator submits the ITP to the insurance provider for approval, if required, and follows up as needed.
08
Service Initiation
Once the plan is approved, a team of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) is assigned to implement the plan under the supervision of the BCBA.
The Scheduling Coordinator arranges regular therapy sessions based on the family’s and therapy team’s availability.
09
Ongoing Monitoring and Adjustments
The BCBA conducts regular progress reviews, adjusting the ITP as needed based on the child’s progress and any changes in behavior.
Families are encouraged to provide ongoing feedback to ensure the child’s needs are being met.
10
Periodic Re-Evaluations
Periodic re-assessments are conducted to evaluate progress, adjust goals, and update the treatment plan accordingly.
